WHERE TO FIND THE BEST VEGAN FRIENDLY CHRISTMAS MARKETS IN BERLIN
If you think of Christmas markets, you might imagine german sausages, fried fish, hot chocolate milk and sweet baked goods. Fortunately, Berlin has a variety of Christmas markets to offer that are out of the ordinary and combine german Christmas tradition with sustainability.
I created a list for you with my favorite vegan friendly Christmas markets in Berlin.
1. GREEN MARKET BERLIN
Berlin has a completely vegan winter market, a paradise for those who want to stroll through a Christmas market, without the smell of “bratwurst sausage”. You can expect a variety of delicious vegan food and lifestyle products, such as natural cosmetics, sustainable + fair fashion and accessories.
My recommendation: Try the amazing raw vegan cakes by Culinary Dots

2. HEISSA HOLZMARKT
This is one of my favorite winter markets, as it’s really unique and different than the traditional christmas markets. Here, you will find extraordinary gift instead of commercial Christmas kitsch: Colorful homemade jewelry, costumes, sustainable, recycled gift ideas. You can find a large selection of vegan Indian-inspired food at the food truck Goura Pakora or you can enjoy hot fries from Nice Fries with vegan mayonnaise or other vegan dips.
My recommendation: Indian mixed thali at the Goura Pakora Food Truck.

3. MERRY MARKTHALLE
If it’s too cold to walk aound outside in the winter cold, you can enjoy warm feets at the Christmas market in Markthalle 9 in Kreuzberg. At this cozy market, you can stroll around and try delicious regional or organic delights from one of the various food vendors. You will easily find some vegan food as well. For example some tukish mixed plates or hot drinks with plant based milk or vegan sweets. And if the delights in the market hall are not enough, there are plenty of cafes around the market hall with delicious vegan treats.
My recommendation: Hot chai latte with almond milk to warm up
